To celebrate Member Rewards Day, Brisbane Racing Club is offering Members the chance to get closer to the excitement and action with a horse barrier ‘jump-out’ experience.

There is nothing like the thrill watching first-hand the jump-out start of a thoroughbred horse race and witnessing the skills that are required to carefully coordinate this important process of every race. This money cannot buy Barrier Experience will be for a small group of lucky Members and will be conducted on Sky Racing Guineas Day, Saturday 4th May 2024.

There will be 1 Barrier Experience available on the day (times to be confirmed) and all participants must adhere to the important T&C policy to ensure safety of all involved, including the horses.

To have the chance to win a place on one of our BRC Barrier Experiences, please register your details using the form below.  Note, only current BRC Members can apply and must be attending Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday 4th May.

Participant registrations MUST be submitted before midday 12.00pm on Thursday 2nd May 2024. All registered Members will go into a draw to be selected via a fair & equal selection process and winners will be contacted by 12.00pm Friday 3rd May 2024.

Only one submission per Member. Please note, confirmed barrier experiences are non-transferrable. If you are unable to attend, please contact BRC Membership to advise so we can allocate another waitlisted Member.

Terms & Conditions - Barrier Experience Safety Policy

The following conditions apply to all guest attending the experience:

  • Total of six (6) guests only can attend either VIP experience at one time
  • No food or beverages are to be taken to any Barrier experiences
  • Mobile phones must be turned on silent for the duration of the activity
  • Any guest acting in a disorderly manner, or who is intoxicated will not be permitted to participate
  • Any guest acting, or displaying loud and inappropriate behaviour will not be permitted to participate
  • Horses are unpredictable animals with a flight instinct. All guests must agree to follow all instructions directed by the BRC representative(s).
  • Please note that both the barrier experience requires a basic level of fitness. Guests attending the barrier experience must have the ability to walk on uneven ground and to duck under the course railings. Please ensure ahead of time the participants feel comfortable with this
  • All persons must follow any reasonable direction of BRC Senior Management, BRC Track Management Team, BRC Employee, or QRIC Official
  • Photographs can be taken once at the starting barriers
  • Guests must be escorted across the winner’s enclosure and course proper prior to the horses exiting onto the course proper by BRC Barrier Experience Host
