Arrival & entry

Doomben Racecourse will be conducting ID checks as this is an 18+ only event.

Acceptable forms of ID include:

  • A photo identification card (Proof of Age card or Australian Post Keypass identity card)
  • Australian drivers license or learners permit
  • Foreign driver license
  • Passport

We are located in Ascot, approximately 11km from the Brisbane CBD, with Ascot train station a short 5-minute walk away.

What to bring

To prepare for your music experience, we've got you covered with a MEKKA Raceday checklist:

  • Valid ID/proof of age
  • Cash and cards/ electronic payment
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
  • A jacket or jumper for when the sun goes down and the party is still going
  • Hand sanitiser.

Banned Items

All bags will be checked on arrival and security will be present on the racecourse throughout the day. Banned items found in your possession will be confiscated, with possible eviction of the event:

Banned items include:

  • Alcohol
  • Outside food or drinks (of any kind) unless an approved medical requirement
  • Glass
  • Umbrellas
  • Fireworks and flares
  • Skateboards, roller skates and rollerblades
  • Eskys
  • Camping chairs and tables
  • Illicit drugs
  • Weapons
  • Balloons
  • Bottled water (including sealed).

Please note, if alcohol or illicit drugs are found on your person, your ticket will be forfeited and you will be escorted from the site with no re-entry. Entry will also be refused if intoxicated/under the influence on arrival or if behaving in an inappropriate or aggressive manner.

 

Food & drink

Our bars will be stocked with popular alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, with something to suit everybody. Various delicious food options are also available, with options to upgrade to an all-inclusive hospitality package in our private suites.

What to wear

We suggest patrons dress in racewear attire for the day. Restrictions in our dress code adhere to:

  • Shoes to be worn at all times around the venue. Restricted footwear includes rubber thongs, slippers, sports sandals, casual slides and crocs
  • Strictly no shirts with offensive or discriminatory messaging, language or graphics
  • No denim shorts
  • No activewear

Acceptable footwear includes heels, sandals and sneakers.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Acceptable Forms of ID for 18+ Events: Current Australian driver license or learner permit, passport (from any country), adult proof of age card, a recognised proof of age card (e.g. Keypass identity card) or foreign driver license must be presented for admittance into both sections of MEKKA Raceday. These can be hard copy ID or official digital ID. The ID must be current and have a photograph of the person and their date of birth. Expired IDs will not be accepted and patrons will be refused entry. No alcohol or illicit drugs can be taken into MEKKA Raceday. If you are caught attempting to enter with alcohol or illicit drugs, your ticket will be forfeited and you will be escorted from the site with no re-entry with the matter referred to the police. Entry will be refused if intoxicated /Under the influence on arrival or behaving inappropriately or aggressively. Prohibited items: Illicit drugs, alcohol, items that can be used as a weapon, signs & banners, balloons, bottled water (including sealed bottles). Read the Conditions of Entry here. Smoking or Vaping is strictly prohibited unless done so in the designated outdoor smoking areas – the Brisbane Racing Club operate under a one-warning rule. Please note the MEKKA Precinct is a strictly 18+ event. If patrons would like to attend the Raceday-only in the Members Reserve, minors are welcome but need to be supervised by a parent or guardian who is old enough to be their parent, at all times.
